Blue Sound performed this second-story addition to an existing garage to provide office space for the client. A "stick framed" roof allows for vaulted ceilings to maximize the sense of spaciousness.
This Cedar Park residence underwent a remodel of its lower floor. We added a bathroom to make a guest suite, a wine room, and new finishes to virtually every surface. We updated the fireplace with an application of plaster, new aluminum trim, hearth stonework and a fir shelf to match the modern aesthetic throughout. Outside, a new ipe deck and staircase to the upstairs deck establish a better connection to the home and its environs.
This clever bath was carved out of an odd closet space tucked away in the basement. The client's teenage son was inspired by the outdoor showers he experienced in Kenya. We created removable cedar "rain screen" panels that attach to a galvanized aluminum backing. The cedar and sliding barn door warm up the industrial feel of the efficiently used space.
Blue Sound was contracted to perform light period upgrades to this Laurelhurst tudor. The new mahogany beams curve with the ceiling and enhance the original mahogany trim elsewhere. The new stairwell provides a more gentle transition to the basement.
The owners of this University period home (the Schuey house) have worked to restore the building to its original grandeur. At some point, previous owners framed in the second story porch and destroyed portions of the columns. Blue Sound installed the new ballustrade, designed after a photo taken in the early 1900's.
We performed an assortment of work for a group of neighbors in the Wedgwood area. The bath was gutted to address dry rot issues; all new tile and plumbing fixtures created a nice update. The dining room photographed involved the removal of two very small doors that detracted from the space and lent no view; the new bank of windows welcome the light.
The owners, acting as their own general contractors, engaged Blue Sound to carry out the finish work on this custom-built, architect-designed 5,000 sq ft home overlooking Greenlake.. The trimwork was extensive and detailed, and required the same fine craftsmanship used in all of our favorite old Seattle homes.
