aRTSY VIBE AND CRAFTED SPACES MAKE THE PERFECT BEACH TOWN GETAWAY

When an architect-sculptor duo approach you to build a beachy inn, it's the stuff of dreams. But reality meant the home-cum-former-law-office in the heart of downtown Edmonds (a charming waterfront town north of Seattle) needed to be lifted several feet into the air in order to make the head height needed for the basement to be reclaimed as a communal gathering space complete with bike storage, kitchen, and office.  In addition,  the plan required extensive framing throughout the upper floor to recoup the attic space in order to capture the cool architectural vibe the owners had envisioned.

In the end, three luxurious upstairs bathroom/bedroom suites, and a living space downstairs capture the artistic mood of the PNW environs making it the perfect inspiring getaway for out of town visitors to explore all that our glorious region has to offer. As a housewarming party, the owners invited the artists Color Condition for a special back-of-house installation, which you can see strung in the outside garden photo.

Note: If you book a stay, make sure you leave time to use a turntable or two.  We had a blast photographing the space to the sound of the Supremes, Patsy Cline, and Willie Nelson, all on their original vinyl medium.
