Greenlake House Lift and Two Story Addition

This recently completed project transformed an original one-story kit home ("The Rodessa" according to the original ad) into three stories with four bedrooms and four bathrooms.  Sustainable elements incorporated include radiant heat, tankless water heaters, pre-wiring for photo-voltaic, plumbing for a (future) solar thermal tank, and FSC-certified hardwoods.  The interior (photos forthcoming) is replete with tiger wood floors, custom cabinetry by a local green cabinetmaker, elegant drop beams and tapered columns, generous window seats, and a back deck that offers territorial views of a charming Greenlake neighborhood.  This home has been featured by Northwest EcoBuilding Guild’s annual Green Building Slam.  You can read about it in the Seattle PI here
