Capitol hill DOUBLE Dutch
A full house renovation and two story Dutch Gambrel addition brought this previously modernized 1904 Dutch Colonial into its new era. Situated on prime property with opportunity for water views and a uniquely generous setback in a desirable urban neighborhood, the homeowners were keen to make the most of their luck.
The alterations included a new guest suite for visitors, all new kitchen, office, bathrooms, and (the cherry on top) a rooftop deck with views of Portage Bay and Husky Stadium. To uphold the elegant, older feel of the house, custom designed stained glass windows, cherry trim, and built in’s provide a warm and inviting Pacific Northwest feel. Outside, a front porch, rock wall, trellis and pavers provide a delightful getaway in the midst of their urban lifestyle. While technically difficult, this project was a delightful collaboration among homeowner, architect, & Blue Sound onsite personnel.
