A Lovely Old Home Extends Its Lake View

The addition may seem small, but the ability to sit and sip coffee out on a veranda is huge. The homeowners contacted Blue Sound to undertake this tricky little angled garage addition in order to place wedge of a brick patio and capture their sparkling views of Greenlake. The required setback from the property line defined the wedge, and Blue Sound worked closely with the architect to maximize every last inch, while respecting the authentic historic character of this charming home.

The work required removing a significant rock retaining wall (and then subsequently re-assembling a portion), pouring the concrete extension for the garage and fresh driveway, masonry work on the patio, and installing new carriage and french doors and a lovely wrought iron railing.

The homeowner was thrilled with the end result (see her review in our footer) and we are pleased as punch it fit so seamlessly with the home’s existing charm.
